Getting To Koh Mak

Guests of Good Time Resort, can be picked up free-of-charge from any pier or any location at the island upon request. The resort is located just between the beaches Ao Suan Yai and Ao Kao Beach.


Both beaches are about 300 meters away. Please let us know, were you will be and we will arrange transport or call us (039-501 000 or 08 50587802) and we will pick you up. 

How to get to Koh Mak from the mainland

Laem Ngop Pier in Trat is where the boats will leave from the mainland to Koh Mak. There are several piers in Trat and the most well known is the one that takes you to Koh Chang. If you are travelling by car please make sure that you are going to the Laem Ngop Pier and not the pier that will take you to Koh Chang.

If you drive yourself

Airconditioned bus

The bus from Ekkamai Station goes directly to Laem Ngop Pier.

Fare: around 300 Baht

Travel Time: +/- 5 hours

Departure time from Bankok: 6:30, 07:45 and 09:45

The bus from Ekkamai Station to Trat city, where you will need to take a local taxi to the pier.


Fare: around 300 Bath

Travel Time: +/- 5 hours

Departure time at least every hour and last bus departs at 22.30.

From Morchit Station (North Bangkok, closer to Khao San Road) the bus goes to Trat city so you will need to take a local taxi to the pier.


Fare: around 300 Baht

Travel Time: +/- 5 hours

Departure time from Bankok: 07:30, 11:00, 22:00

From Suvarnabhumi airport bus terminal.


Fare: around 350 Baht

Departures directly to Laem Ngop: 08:15 and 10:15.

Departures to Trat city: 6:40, 10:10, 11:40, 13:10, 16:10, 18:10 (in Trat take taxi to pier

Private van or Taxi

TA private van or taxi can take you anywhere you want in Thailand. Getting a private van or taxi is easy, just ask your hotel or ask information at the airport.

The prices below are to give you an idea but are by no means exact. It depends on the driver and the company.


3,800 Baht for a regular taxi (3 persons)

• 5,000 Baht for a 5 person minibus

Shared minibus

A shared minibus is fast and cheap. Most minibuses drive with 9-12 people and leave from Kao Sarn road or Victory Monument. Rates are usually 400 Baht. A return ticket can be booked on the pier at the same rate (2 times 400).


Once you get to Laem Ngop Pier you still need to take a boat to Koh Mak. You have the choice of the following boats.

Wooden Boat

On the wooden boat there is room for 80 people and it takes about three hours to get to Koh Mak. This boat takes you to Ao Nid pier on Koh Mak. The boat leaves Laem Ngop only on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 11:00 am and ticket costs 300 Baht per person.

Speedboat

The Panan Speedboat leaves Leam Ngop pier at 12:30 and 16:00 and takes about 45 minutes to Koh Mak. During low season other schedules apply. The fare costs 450 Baht and takes you to Ao Soun Yai pier (Koh Mak Resort).


The Lelawadee Speedboat takes about 50 minutes to get to Koh Mak. During high season the boat leaves daily from Laem Ngop at 10:30 and 14:00. The current rate is 450 Baht and takes you to Makathanee Resort (Ao Kao Beach). During low season other schedules apply.


Important: The last speedboat leaves at 16.00. When you miss this one, you have to sleep over in Trat or Koh Chang. Depending on the weather-condition, the speed-boats sometimes cannot operate. This happens 10-15 days a year. Bring raincoats and cover for your bags in the rainy-season.

From Koh Chang

The Bang Bao Wooden Boat leaves Bang Bao every day at 9.00 and arrives Koh Mak at 10.45 (300 Baht).

The Bang Bao Speedboat leaves every day at 12.00 and arrives Koh Mak at 12.45 (550 Baht).


Only during high season 

From Koh Kood

Bang Bao Speedboat: 9.00 – 10.00 (450 Baht)

Siriwhite Speedboat: 10.00 – 10.40 (450 Baht)

Kae Bae Speedboat: 9.00 – 9.45 and 11.00 – 11.45 (600 Baht)
